Welcome to the Tallgrass Chat Room Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute welcomes animal people interested in acupressure and other complementary healing modalities to participate in the Chat Room we sponsor. The Tallgrass Instructors and Practitioners take an active role in responding to questions and sharing information because they have a wealth of knowledge and experience in a range of healing modalities, not just acupressure. ____________________________________________________________ |

Equine Sarcoids, APs. Salves, Homeopathy Recently a holistic vet I work with occasionally called and asked me to research
First three treatments were once every other week then once a month for 2 or 3 times. The oldest case was treated 2 years ago, others were treated 1.5 years and a few months ago and all are free of complaints at this time.
Are Thoresen DVM of Norway uses the following method with success and has presented several papers at seminars around the world about this principle. He uses the Ko Cycle - one treatment on the channel that controls the pathway or organ of the primary lesion (cancer/sarcoid) If the sarcoid is exactly on the BL (water) Channel, the K0 (Controlling) Channel is Sp-Earth If you determine that the sarcoid is located in an area of a vaccination site, you may consider a remedy that has a history of clearing up the residue of vaccines such as Thuja in low potency along with your indicated nosode. If you determine that the sarcoid is due to malnutrition or a compromised immune system, all effort should be made to restore the vital state of health to the animal prior to treatment. This can be done with herbs, nutrition and acupressure to support the blood and kidneys. The horse's vital state of health will determine how long you may need to use a remedy to clear the sarcoid If you have determined the underlining cause is vaccinations and you have decided to use the Sarcoid Nosode and Thuja consider: Sarcoid Nosode 30C 2-3 times day for 2 days then back down to 1 time a day for anther 6-7 days In the same time period (at least an hour later) give: Thuja 6C 2-3 times a day on a sugar cube or in 1cc of water orally for 10 days Always give the Thuja at different time of day (at least an hour between) than the Sarcoid Nosode. If it is not possible to be around the horse to do the above, here is another option. |

| Even though Dusty has had a tough road, in the pictures you can tell he still has that wonderful spark in his eyes, and that life is good NOW look. He sure is cute! Ok, so you mentioned his surgery was between B18 and Bl21. These points are associated with Liver, Gallbladder, Spleen and Stomach Meridians. Anger and Aggression are associated with the Liver and Gallbladder, and you mentioned you got a big yawn, a release of energy, at Bl19 the Gallbladder Association point, but he won't let you touch GB21, which spreads Liver Chi, and his skin is oily which to me may indicate the liver may be detoxing. So in my opinion, based on the indicators of imbalance you expressed, I would look to balance Liver and Gallbladder. First, I would balance Yin which is the Liver Meridian. If Dusty was my dog I would work Liv3, Source Point. I would also work GB37 the Connecting Point, to balance the energy between the sister pairs. I would consider working Liv6 , the Accumulation Point. Accumulation Points most often need to be sedated. Working Accumulation points remove obstructions by dispersing energy and rebalancing the flow of Chi along the meridian. I would also work GB 40, the Source Point. In addition, I would still work Ki3, Sp6, and Sp21, for the reason discussed in my earlier e-mail. I think swimming is an excellant modality for spinal fusion recovery. My husband has spinal fusion and he has told me swimming is the least painful and most beneficial exercise for him. If Dusty was my dog I would alternate acupressure one day, swimming the next, one day of rest, and repeat. Following a protocol helps you really see the benefit and change, and allows you an opportunity to really evaluate the benefits. I have a idea, about helping prevent Dusty from being injured outside. Have you tried a body suit for Dusty. What I mean is like a jump suit, where his feet go in, and than his whole body, like a onezee for babies. I don't know if they make them for dogs, but if you can sew it might be worth trying to sew one for Dusty. It needs to be a breathable material so he doesn't overheat, but there must be something available that won't tear, also. If you can't sew maybe a seamtress could sew it for you, and help select a material. I know there are patterns for dog cloths, so maybe you can find one for a jumpsuit, at a sew shop. You sound like you really love Dusty, and are taking good care of him, and I am sure that is helping him restore his balance of Chi, also! |
